It’s 10am and I’m ready to go. There is two ways to go to Wanaka from here. One long and easy. Another one short and steep. I prefer the shortest one it’s more funny :-) let’s go!

Kingston > lake Hayes (52km, 3h15)
Today I’m coming back to the place I know already : lake Hayes. It was nice last time but to short so I decided to have one more day off there and enjoy.
Tuatapere > Rarākau carpark (22km cycle, 1h15) > Hump Ridge Track > Ōkaka hut (18km walk, 6h15)
Today is a marvellous day and I’m very lucky! I’m going up to the Ōkaka hut to pass the night but before I must walk 18 km. And before that I must cycle 22km until the car park. During the high season there is a shuttle service but not now. That’s OK :-)
Te Anau > Tatuapere (104km, 5h20)
OK, today should be a looong day. I’ve planned to go to Tatuapere but it’s more than 100km away from Te Anau. I want to do that and be able to start the Hump Ridge track tomorrow. My last boss from Clyde Orchard, Kevin, told me a good thing about this one. And it’s still in the fiordland so I want to do it :-)
Doubtful Sound, second day trip + Te Anau > camp site (62km, 3h15)
Ouhaaa! We had a good peaceful night and I could sleep 2 hours more but the boat has to be ready for the next group and they told us that If we stayed longer in the bed they we come and do the bed with us inside! I didn’t want to try so wake up! It’s 7:30 :-)
Doubtful Sound, first day trip
Here we are! The first day off our Doubtful sound trip :-) it’s going to be amazing! The weather is not to bad and we will pass the night on the boat and we should do some kayaking today or tomorrow :-)
Mavora lakes, day off (13km, 1h10)
This night was raining and it still the same now. I’ve kept my food next to me this night so I don’t need to move outside :-) I hope the weather will be better in few hours… Fortunately I’ve got something to read : “20000 leagues under the sea” by Jules Vernes. I’ve started with “80 days around the world” and then “Travel to the centre of the earth” and now I’m reading a third one :-)
