Last day spent on the island. This morning we visited the northern side of the beach passing front of many other hotels waiting for the tourist season to start. Early this afternoon we will go to Kampot to continue our trip in Cambodia.
Simply cycling around
Second day in Koh Rong Samloem. This afternoon we are going on a boat tour to do some snorkeling, visit a village at the top of the island, enjoy sunset, have dinner at a local place and finally see fluorescent plankton (which I don’t have any pictures of it because it was a way too dark and subtile). Before lunch we decided to have another walk and visit the light house of this island but unfortunately we didn’t have the time to finish the track.
This morning, we took a bus back to the Sihanoukville city centre. This bus had no window, and the inside was nearly empty. There were two long bench on each side and two wooden palettes in the centre. Once we reached the city, we collect a lot more people and the bus was full. The two palettes were there to pile up most of the backpacks. Thirty minutes later we got on the “Speedferry” to Koh Rong Samloem island where we plan to stay two nights.
Today we are doing a second tour around Battambang. Vany brought us first to see Bamboo rice cooking. That reminds me the way Indonesian people do except they wrap the rice in a banana leaf before and add a banana inside as well. The main technique is similar though. Then we discovered the traditional way of making rice paper and rice liquor, we visited also some temples and pagoda.
