The last New Zealand step!

Pukearuhe > Awakino (67km, 4h20)
Today is a nice day and I’m going to continue my trip towards Auckland. I’ve plenty of time but as every time I prefer to anticipate. Geordie, Carissa and her family are really nice people and I had a good time yesterday night. Finally it was a good thing to not have crossed the “Whitecliffs walkway” yesterday and even more better because I’ve seen the cliffs! Maybe if I had continued onto the difficult track I couldn’t see the coast side. So this is two positive things :-)
Pukearuhe > whitecliffs walkway (loop)
New Plymouth > Pukearuhe (53km, 3h35)
Yes the sun came back and it’s a nice warm day :-) Today I’m going to reach the departure of the “whitecliffs walkway” I want to pass through that one tomorrow and avoid 30km of the main road. I want to stick as much as possible to the sea because the main road is going inland almost all the way until Auckland. It’s maybe shorter but I have enough time to choose a side trip. Let’s go!
New Plymouth, day off
Today I’m going to have a one more day off. It’s still raining and so windy. This is the worst part. I thought this king of weather was only seen in Wellington! I’ve got something to do in the city so I don’t feel I will waist my time here. And. I have to find another place where to stay tonight because the last one…
Step, Wellington > New Plymouth (114km + 282km by bus, 3 days)
Somewhere around Taranaki > New Plymouth (38km, 2h45)
Today is not a good day for taking pictures and I didn’t. This morning I hesitated between moving or not. It was raining a bit but the main thing was the wind! And I didn’t realised at the beginning because the place I chose yesterday was sheltered. I understood that went I reach the road. Fortunately the distance was shorter than I expected and 38 km under the rain is enough!
