Raglan, day off

Nothing special today. I thought the weather was going to be warm and good but around 11 am it started to rain, Arf! I’ve finally spent my time in the library and then went to the supermarket again to buy flour and make more bread. I’ve got a kitchen just for me so it’s nice to take the space I need and make good food for the rest if my trip. I hope I won’t have to buy bread again until I leave new Zealand. Tomorrow I’m going to continue my trip towards Auckland by the small roads. I have almost finished turning around this country, incredible :-D

Wellington, second day off

Yesterday, I spend my day between Te Papa museum (for the fast internet connexion) and the library to charge the tablet and my phone. I could learn many things but no… just electronic day. Then, I left the city centre at 9 pm maybe to find a new spot for the night. The last one was not the best and I came back around the backpacker where I stayed almost a week during my first visit of Wellington. I remembered there was a small park and I was right. The place was really quiet and totally flat this time :-) .it was a bit dirty with beer cans all around but I cleaned the area to avoid any problem. I’m now going back to the library to continue what I was doing yesterday. I have to download all the app I need and learn how to be fast like I was with the tablet. I just hate the Samsung keyboard! It’s useless! If I don’t find any solution I’m ready to sell it already and buy another phone. I also have to prepare the tablet for Dene because he is waiting for it since 5 weeks now. We have exchanged some emails and he is impatient to receive it :-) I have to hurry up because we are Saturday and the post office is open only this morning. Sunday it’s closed and Monday also because it’s Queen’s day anniversary.

Marahau > Abel Tasman track return > Motueka (25km, 1h30)

Hey, the sun is coming back today and the timing is nice for me. Marahau is situated next to the Abel Tasman National park. It’s a famous place where hundreds of tourists come every summer and even every year. At this time of the year now, the track is certainly much less crowded, a good opportunity for me to visit it today :-) I won’t do all the track because I would have need at least two days but I could walk simply one hour and come back. It’s better than nothing so Let’ go!

Yesterday afternoon, something like 12 riders arrived to the hut. They certainly came directly from Kohaihai. They are going to the same way as me and they left at 8:00am because they will finish the track today. So they do it in 2 days only but they are much lighter than me. That’s a different way :-) It rained almost all the night. We are lucky, now it’s fine but cold! 5.6°! Brr! I have to move fast! Normally today should be easier than yesterday and the first day.
