Simply cycling around
That’s not a surprise, the rain is come back and that’s sure I won’t go anywhere today… this picture doesn’t represent the reality because I took it when the storm gone. I wanted to take a picture when it was rainy (to remember that wonderful moment) but I had forgotten my battery in my tent and it’s was so a long way (50m) to come back and pick it up.
This picture is perfect to represent these two little town. There is color everywhere, many flowers and it’s sunny today! That’s genial! But, I don’t know, I have a strange feeling today. I feel alone and a bit sad.
As the forecast has predicted the rain is with us for the day. So, I won’t move anywhere. There is absolutely nothing to do here. Just stay in my tent, read and eat or eat and read.
Today is a day off for my camera as well :-) I’m between McDonald’s and McDonald’s to get all the programmes I need. It’s not the most interesting day but one day like this will help me for all the rest of my trip. After coming back to the camp, I’ve met Russel a kiwi guy. He cycled like l’m doing in new Zealand, in Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. We was talking when finally he propose me to work for him for tomorrow morning if there is enough things to do. Hmm, I didn’t expect to work in Tauranga but why not :-) Russel is building a house 2 min from the camp. I will have to put some branches away and cut some metal things and help him to do the job he can’t do alone. As almost all houses in New Zealand, they are build in wood and it should be really interesting to learn how is working a carpenter. I will see tomorrow :-)
Today it’s rain, wind, rain, wind, so I’m staying in my tent, writing my diary, reading, but no cycling!
Nothing special today, just relax and wondering if I will arrive to take a cold shower or not…
After a long trip yesterday, I prefer to have a break and Karl told me that it should rain today… Dargaville is maybe not the best city to visit but I can find a internet cafe :-). This morning, as every day, I wake up at 7.30am. I would like to spend more time in my “bed” but it’s not so comfortable so finally I prefer to have an entire journey doing something useful. I didn’t take so many pictures today because I spend most of the day on internet to find a way how to be faster when I add a new day in this blog. Actually the pictures I take with my camera are to big so I need to use an online program to resize them. I like to take 16:9 pictures but this format use only the largest pixel’s number, grr! I think it’s not fair from Canon. Acting like this, they are almost sure that we use this mode, so we need bigger memory cards. Not cool canon, it’s not cool! Ok so I wanted to find another way and improve my blog but I almost break it. The solution now : I’m going to use Gimp (a free photoshop) to resize automatic all my pictures in 3 clicks :-). I will earn so much time and save so much money. This month I’ve spend 70$ in internet cafe. It’s really too expensive here. It’s 1$ for 10 minutes and in the camps the computers are really slow so I pay for wait. Grr! I know it’s not the most important thing to read but I wanted to write it :-). I would like to spend less time on internet and continuing to collect souvenirs.
