Simply cycling around
Monday, I’m late… I hope I could finish last Friday but no, not possible. Last Saturday two guys from Sweden came. We are now three (I’m counting well , aren’t I). So today I expect to finish the wall protection. It’s nearly half done now. (Lucie don’t clic on the arrow, a huge goanna is coming :-)
The wood is finished, hmm, at least it’s cut and on place. I thought I could finish on Friday but no. I need to protect the walls now, cut the roof metal part.
And finally (I hope), this time (fingers crossed), the hole is done. Today I’ll put everything on place because I’m gonna fix the big frame to create one big strong piece. Then I’ll take out the jacuzzis again to have enough room for working. This is going to be more interesting from today because the changes will be faster :-)
Ok, Sue and Keith are going to the city this afternoon so I’ll get some new ciment too late this afternoon. Fortunately there is lots of other things to do as always ;-) Let’s start with the letter box. They actually have a crappy opened letter box. When it’s raining all the letters get wet. I’ve seen this one in the green house last time. Sue started to paint it with spray paint but it didn’t work as she expected. She gave me another kind and I’ve just done the first layer. I will apply the second one tomorrow.
Today I’m starting working on the four platforms which are around the center. The “table” in the middle is finished. I even was faster than I thought but a problem came up…
Today, no more digging. I’m glad to do something else : painting :-) My first concrete piece is ready to use, I put the “table” back onto it. The heavy boards are ready to be covered with the harderner, the product that will protect the wood for the next few years. Ok let’s start.
Finally! This morning I finished digging the hole. Now it makes a nice big octagon shape just as the same as the four jacuzzis put together. But there was still something wrong, something I was worried about, something I wanted to fix but it takes time. But I have time! So, let’s go for it :-) Yes the “table” frame in the center sits actually on four brick which themselves sit on the sandy ground. When it will rain a lot, the bricks might move millimeters after millimeters and after a while, a year maybe, boom! Broken… My solution, the most natural one I think, is to use concrete and build a real strong basement. And I even got the machine to make it, but this concrete machine was stuck under a thick layer of strong and dry concrete. First step : unlock the machine from its prison. Second step : learn how to make concrete. Last step : work :-)
