Robe > Salt creek (108km, 4h30)

This is a new day, one more towards Adelaide and especially Darwin. I still have a long way to go but I’ve done well already. It might be around 1800km and I have more than 3000km coming haha :-) So far, this is the fastest cycling day I had. I think I said that yesterday but I did not know how the wind would be today! This is crazy (for me) I was sometimes riding for a little while at more than 30 km/h! FouaaaH! This is lighting fast! And I’ve met late this afternoon two cyclists, Cindy and MJ, going the opposite way :-) Unfortunately for them they are struggling the wind which is my best friend today!

As usual, this is the classic shot showing where I’ve slept last night. I’m not far away from the city center and really close to an expensive “Holiday park” but it’s free and I had a very peaceful night. I’m now going to pack everything and will start with the library this morning.

The library, is done :-) My blog is up to date and all my stuff is fully charged. The wind seems to be like yesterday which means I’ll do another 100km today! Good :-)

This is the lake I’ve slept next to last night.

Just right there, on the right side of that little beach, behind the bushes. Too easy ;-)

I’m now in a wine area but many of the property are closed now. This is not the season and the grapes look pretty dry.

Yes, very dry.

The weather is nice today and I can’t see any rain coming. Good, I don’t miss it :-)

Hop, another wine plantation which shows clearly that this is Autumn here.

45km from this morning done in 2 hours and I’m now in Kingston where I’m going to have a break.

This town is super clean, tidy and very quiet.

The view is… flat!

I would say, it’s nearly dead here. Where are the people. Robe was much more active this morning before I left it. There is also some nice old building like Robe but the atmosphere is colder.

Hmmm, a park, public toilets. That’s a good opportunity to wash my hair again today :-)

The break is done. I bought some very nice chocolated soy milk and a chocolate bar, just enough to feel my blood with sugar and energy for the rest of my trip. Let’s go!

Few! That is a huge lobster :-) I remember when I was doing my Wwoofing in Casino, Sue told me that Australians like big things like Americans. That day she showed me the BIG Prawn and later on I’ve seen the BIG Banana of Coffs Harbour .

I’m out of Kingston and the wind is really pushing hard. I’m pedalling without effort at 25km/h and I can go much faster than this! impressive!

This could be part of the “BIG” serie. This letter box is showing off ;-)

The landscape doesn’t change much but I really enjoy cycling so fast.

This wind mill shows how powerful is the wind today.

And it’s much better to see that on video ;-)

Hey, looks like there is some cyclists coming :-)

Cindy and MJ are travelling since December 2013 and started from their home, China. They entered in Australia flying from Bali and then rode Darwin to here in 2 months. They want to go to Melbourne and fly to New Zealand for another 3 months. Guys, I’m going to follow your mark on the other side :-) Here there website (which is in Chinese) if you want to have a look to their amazing adventure!

After this nice break, we exchanged some contact address and continued our trip. This was a very nice surprise and it gives me some boost again.

Another funny letter box today. I’ve seen microwaves in NZ and some Australian did the same here but a fridge! You can get big parcel which is useful! Maybe it’s even working?! Maybe there is some fresh Coke in it?! Should I try? Nooo, no. My mind gets twisted, let’s continue.

I give myself an hour and then I will stop. I want to do minimum 100km today which is far doable even if the wind is getting weaker now.

Houuu, the sunset. I’ve got 30 minutes left and then, stop! See ya!

Lol

  2. I love the first letter box which is prettier.
I hope you will be lucky with the wind all your way like today!

  3. Hey Damien! Yah I’m back, wow you have a great adventure and lots of beautiful places to see. Enjoy the day!
