Simply cycling around
I arrived yesterday in “Parafield Gardens” where I’ve met again Joy and Graham who invited me at there place for a day or two. Today we are out for visit around the non-touristy places of Adelaide. The rain is gone and it’s better like this. Enjoy the ride :-)
Surprise after surprise, after the worst 30 kilometres I’ve done yesterday. My day turned out to be a lucky one. In fact, I was ready to find my spot for the night and went out of the McDonald’s where I met Anthony. He asked me where I was going to sleep that night and proposed me straight away if I was interested to stay in house with a fire wood. How can I refused an offer like this? :-) Anthony house sit his daughter’s place for the night and it’s 3 minutes away from where we met. I’ve followed him driving slowly to his place and we spent the evening talking about Australia’s famous places.
Today, Anthony proposed to guide me around Mount Gambier and treat me as he said “like exchange students we had”. I’m completely fine with that :-) We started early and visited until 11am to go to the library. Then around 4pm, we came back to his daughter’s place to collect our stuff and I was on my saddle again! What a nice day!
This was not in my plan at all but today I’m riding with Akihiko to the top of Australia ;-) It doesn’t look like because the maximum altitude is about 2200m and there is no sharp summit around. I let my trailer in a kind of park at the entrance of Jindabyne. I’ve covered it with some branch and trunks. I’m sure it will be fine. Today we have something like 1200m to climb along 50km and we will come back. This is the idea :-)
Before I left TSM in December, I knew they were going to move to Woolloomooloo. Eveyone had seen the office before and said it was very nice. Today, this is my turn to see it :-) One the left side is Dave (one of the two skinny men) and one the right side Bec :-)
This is Coffs Harbour (the harbour is behind me actually). I’ve been few times in the center with John and by myself but I’ve never visited the coast side. We drove here with Robin because she wants to have a look to Luna Park. She likes taking pictures at night and we are here today to get some ideas.
This evening, I’ve joined Robin in Newtown. We’ve been eating in a vegetarian restaurant where you pay whatever you want at the end. There is a big box next to the entrance of the restaurant and people choose the price they want to pay. The food is very good and the place is always full. The first time we tried, it’s was already too late. They sold out all the food they had.
After the restaurant I’m following Robin in Enmore to have a dessert in a famous place : Cow and Moon. This artisan gelato is very well known for its ice delicious ice cream. It’s around 8:30pm, most of the restaurants are already close but this one remains.
Today, I’m going to cycle towards Watson bay, a place situated at the end of a peninsula. The weather is perfect for a ride so let’s do it!
