Simply cycling around
After a nice sleep at Possum valley (well, I did not really sleep because there was 3 or 4 possum scratching the roof all night. That’s ok, this is nature :-) Josh and Martin, started the day by repair a bridge with Paul. They do like wwoofing in fact. Then we traveled onto the tableland and especially in a middle of nowhere to find the site that Martin and Josh are going to work on.
We have started a trip with Martin and Josh today on the tableland and we ended the day at Possum Valley where Paul lives. I’ve been there once more than a year ago and nothing changed since. Paul bough this large piece of land more than 30 years ago and built by himself his house and 3 cottages. Martin and him are friends since a while and tonight we will sleep in one of the cottage.
Today is Japan Day and I’m going to help Yoko in that primary school. These people are raising money to help the people of the unlucky Fukushima area. That’s good. I’ve been reading a lot of news since the accident happened and it definitely still on even if the media ignore it. I’m glad I can participate to an event like this.
Hey, I’m flying this morning to Cairns where I’m going to meet Martin, Yoko and Marco again. I would prefer to be able to cycle there but the way I’m planned my trip makes it hard to come back to Cairns as I will be cycle through the center of Australia, heading to Darwin. Anyway, this is worth it and I’m sure I will enjoy it! I’m coming :-)
I’m really proud of myself for what I’ve done. I’ve struggle a bit at the beginning but the result is great. It’s going to match with my trailer perfectly now :-) Thanks Robin :-)
When Robin finished to decorate my trailer, it looked great. I knew I was going to receive my new brand bike and it could be a good idea to do something for it. I expect it will look less expensive and more hippie. I’m far to be one but I like the style :-) Robin did not have the time to do it but propose me to teach me how to knit. This is a good idea :-) I like learning new stuff so here we go, I’ve started this part four times now because I was making several mistakes. Now, I’ve got the trick. I’m still slow but it’s working well. If I keep going like this every night, my bike’s pullover will be ready in few days or weeks. Let’s work!
This is my old bike and I’m selling it! I had three options : send it back to France which will be expensive. Find someone to cycle with me but it will be hard to find and I’m not sure if this bike is ready for it as I keep my trailer. The final option is to sell it. I need to be lucky because if I don’t find anyone, I will have to change my mind very quickly! It has been a really good machine. The reason I’m changing is simple. This one is a competition bike with 30 speeds. With one chain I can ride around 2500km. I’ve changed it many times already plus I had to change the cassette, the chainrings. Well this is something I will have to take care of a along the way.
