Today, this time I found the rail trail toward Christchurch. I’m gonna to come back in the same backpacker to get the WiFi and upload my pictures. I will come back to the cycle shop as well.

Hey, that was my place for the night :-) under the tree with a black tent at night, all was OK, I slept well. Today I’m coming back to Motukarara in the nice flat campsite.
Motukarara > Akaroa (67km, 4h30 to 622m)
Today is still sunny and It’s a pleasure. Careful, there is many pictures because every places were wonderful so it was difficult to limit the picture’s number. Now, I have more work to do :-)
Motukarara, day off
Today is coool, peace and quiet. I just take my time, clean my bike perfectly and take care about my stuff. I spent 130$ for my bike yesterday and I hope it’s enough even if I know that I will have to buy a 16″ tire soon. But now, coool :-)
Christchurch > Motukarara (38km, 2h)
Today I’m going halfway between Christchurch and Akaroa. So, I start with some pictures of the destroyed city but not too much because I feel guilty. There is a large contrast between the old collapsed buildings and the new ones. All the city is on work and the city centre is totally close.
Christchurch, spending too much money
Today I have to repair and buy many things on my bike. Josiane went yesterday in a good bicycle shop so I followed her advise. I have to repair a spoke, a gear cable, a fork cable. I have to buy a inner tube for my trailer’s wheel, maybe a tire as well, a new tire for the bike because the other one was too big. I will give it to Josiane.
Christchurch, lazy day off
Today, nooothing! We need to get dry and use all the stuff around us : kitchen, toilets, showers, tea, shops… We deserve it after all that rain! This backpacker is nice and warm. It’s a house Napier and not a factory making money like Wellington. We are maybe 20 people here and it’s cool :-). This is the kitchen.
