DSCF3778

Today we are going to brave Barron Gorge for the second time! And we are a real team :-) Martin and Marco, Jimmy and his two sons, Cameron and me. All together, carefully and strongly we are going to reach the top of the top this time :-) I’m taking pictures from the second part only because the landscape was the same until now but we didn’t cheat, we start from the beginning of course :-D

Freshwater, guinea pig cage, stage 02

20130913_164637

Hey, it starts to resemble to a cage :-) The “job” is slow and needs patience but I’m sure the result we be nice with a natural looking. Yesterday, I came back to the Botanical garden to find some more bamboos. I bought the first set but I didn’t have enough. I didn’t cut any new one of course, I respect the park. I just find many on the ground and chose the best pieces. Now the cage got different colours from green to light brown. It’s still nice :-)

Freshwater, guinea pig cage, stage 01

I’m working on a new project seen few days : a guinea pig cage :-) My initial plan was to make a cage like a big tube but I didn’t find the cheap material to make that. Marco didn’t trust me and I couldn’t show him that it was possible. Anyway, I found another material : bamboo! It’s light, it’s strong, it’s cheap, it’s perfect for a cage. I even use my survival book to learn how to make good and strong nodes. In a week maybe, this cage will be finished. At least I would like to finish it before I leave because I should do it soon, normally… see ya :-)

Cairns, Botanical garden, Marco’s concert

20130911_161521_1

Come back to Cairns Botanical Garden to watch, this time, Marco play cello in a concert! The first three guys are one teacher, one guy from Canberra (if I understood correctly). Apparently he plays for the best Orchestra in Australia, something like this. The last guy with the orange short is a teacher as well. Then behind all of them are students and we can see easily that they are not come from the same school because they don’t wear the same colours.

Yes I know, I waited just before Mai is ready to leave to take a picture together. Rah, it’s always the same story, I don’t dare to ask for a picture but today it the limit and there is no choice hahaa :-) We met in NZ, Napier where we lived in the same place for one month. Seven months later we met each other again in Australia here in Cairns! Isn’t that great. I’m glad to have met you again Mai. Enjoy your stay in Melbourne and see you one day in Japan maybe or somewhere else :-D Bye bye!

Freshwater > Kuranda (return) with Zackari and Marco

20130908_162145

Today we are going with Zackari and Marco to see Miyuki and then “coconut Paul”. We call it like this because there is three Paul around and this Paul is working with coconuts, easy :-) I didn’t took any pictures of Miyuki’s place and I don’t know why. She’s got a nice place around Kuranda where everything is made environmentally. She has a 5 starts compost toilet outside of the house :-) We worked a bit around the property and then we moved together to Paul’s place who live 3 minutes from here.
