Tudongkasatan > Wat Ko Tamyae (60km)

What is that? A Pile of gold? Nope that’s a temple :-) Today we have visited only one place early morning. A part that, we cycled on the smallest roads as possible. The temperature rose certainly above the 40°C around midday. It became very hard to cycle and even to rest. The break time was too hot as we did not find a very good place.

Nakhon Pathom > Road n°3036 (30km)

DSCF1086

Today we are only two people cycling, Pita and myself. Kate and Grandin accelerated towards Bangkok where they have an appointment. We did not cycling much today because we have visited two places: the Sanam Chandra Palace built by King Rama VI and Phra Pathom Chedi the first and biggest pagoda built in Thailand. A slow and interesting day :-) I told Pita we would travel around 50km per day but today we have been quite lazy haha. That compensates the long distance we have done yesterday :-)

Wat Tanod Luang > Wat Doa Loi (76km)

After two days off, we are back on the road, good! Except I have a stomachache that doesn’t seem to disappear. The last few days has been very windy. This morning was fine but after 8am the headwind hit again. Eddie and Manon were right, we are now in Camargue haha. Well, it doesn’t look exactly like this from what I remember but it does not match the image I had of Thailand! There is hectares of salty water and hundreds of people working in the “fields”. Today we met two other cyclists, Ronan from France and another guy from England who is doing a 3 weeks trip with a folding bicycle. During we stopped to take some picture we saw 4 other cyclists on the road going the opposite way of us. Later, we were cycling on a secondary road and saw one more French guy cycling by himself. When he saw us, he just said “Salut”. He knew we were French but we did not even talk to him. That’s 7 people touring today!

Wat Khlong Nam Khem > Phraphut Kiti Sirichai (52km)

Today we cycled mostly along the coast. The beaches are much more clean than what we have seen previously. The presence of many resorts explains largely and easily why. Today, we took a new resolution for 2016, we will try to take more pictures of ourselves and the bicycles. I used to do that in New Zealand but I think it faded away, a bit. I want to improve that cycling feeling when reading or watching these pictures. We finished the end of this day by visiting a huge Buddhist temple. So nice that we came back at night to get some special shots. Except that my camera did not catch much what we have seen and enjoyed tonight. That’s frustrating!

Wat Thung Sai Thong > Wat Khlong Nam Khem (80km)

DSCF7741

Today was quite good. Nice weather, hot temperature, not much wind as usual, small roads to ride on. It would be even better if I would stop breaking, piece after piece, parts of my setup. I might be dreaming too much on the way because today I attacked my camera. No more camera, no more pictures… It would be very sad… I don’t say more, I’m going to buy a new brain made in China…

Wat Don Sai > Wat Thung Sai Thong (50km)

DSCF7692

Today for the first time since Malaysia, we reached the east coast and the gulf of Thailand. The beaches here are not as touristy than the one in the south west, at least, not yet. We had to come back on the highway for a little while but we took the opportunity to stop at a petrol station, get some water, clean some clothes, have an extra shower and work in a cafe. The new deal now is to find the “Amazon Cafe” which have Wifi and plugs to charge all we need. Very easy life :-)

Wat Suwan Thararam > Wat Don Sai (80km)

Good day today. We keep finding little roads away from the highway. The food is cheap and tasty except when we don’t get what we order… I thought I would be travelling in Thailand during the rainy season. Since then, this is the first time we get regular rain through the day. Fortunately, every time we made a break, the rain started :-) The luck is coming back!
