This is the big departure! I’ve got only my tent to pack and the road will be mine :-) It’s strange to travel again but I cannot wait any longer. Let’s go!
Simply cycling around
For my last day, we are all together in the same place. I really had a good time here mainly with John and Pauline but Also with Beryl and Stephen (right side) and Anne and Rob (left side). I certainly learned more than I think and I study a lot of history (thanks John). Definitively, I’m lucky! :-) it was a great adventure, thank you all! Damien.
This is it, after three months spent in Woolgoolga where I’ve never expect to come, I’ve discover this nice little town surrounded by blueberrie, cucumber and banana farms. I saved some money and I’m now ready to cycle down south again. I had a good time with John, his wife and friends and I certainly progressed in English as well. Yesterday I organized a bqq and invited few friends I met here. It was nice.
Today I have a mission. Woolgoolga’s council is on its way to make changes in the town. They want to get rid of the main campsite and the surf club to build new units which will welcome richer people. It’s always a question of money… The thing is that surf club particularly is part of the heritage of the town and they simply want to destroy it. A friend of John, who is an heritage person started to fight against the council. Her community created a web site and a petition to stop the demolition. This morning I’m here to take some pictures of the building and hope it will serve the community. If you want more informations : www.savewoopibeach.org.
Three days ago we went visiting the Costa farm and John bought lots of frozen blueberries and strawberries. Until now I was the one who bring him blueberries, cucumbers and even bananas but this time it’s John who offer me some :-) They are second grade but I don’t taste any difference. It’s still delicious!
