As planned, well… not really, we stayed another night. I did not want to spend money on diving or snorkeling at first. The thing is there is no much else to do here. I’ve hesitated and finally paid a snorkeling session for 50Ringgit. Too bad I did not bring the GoPro with me because there is so much different fish here with amazing shape and colors.

Kinabatangan river > mabul island (212km, 3h30 by bus + 70km, 1h50 by car + 16km, 1h by boat) Few!
Today we are travelling from the Kinabatangan river to Mabul island. Stephane wants to go to Semporna because he knows there is one of the bests spots on this planet for diving and snorkeling. We share our thoughts with Mr. Aji who said that we should go to Mabul island which is very beautiful and a good base from where water activities start. Okay, sounds good, let’s do that :-)
Sepilok > Kinabatangan river (110km, 2h15 by car)
Yesterday afternoon we met Mr. Aji who came to us. He proposed a boat tour in the jungle which is 2 hours away from Sepilok by car. For 350Ringgit we will spend 3:30 hours in the boat seeking for monkeys and other wild animals, one night in an Home stay with dinner and breakfast included, a one hour night walk in the jungle and finally another bush walk the second day. That sounds honest. We texted him yesterday evening and met him at 11:00am this morning in Sepilok. Let’s start the adventure!
Ayer Hitam, Chinese temple > Kampung Sungai Sudah Muar, Chinese temple (57km)
Today we are going to reach the west coast. This time, this is Pee Ta’s bicycle that needs to be repaired, the chain was twisted and she had to changed it. She was very lucky because the bicycle shop owner repaired her bike for free! Later on we stopped along the road to have a fresh sugar juice. Then we kept going until Muar where we stopped at the same place where I’ve been on my way down to Singapore a month ago. Finally we reached another chinese temple and stayed there for the night.
Singapore, East Coast to North Singapore, Thai Temple
Second day spent with the Thai cyclists. During their trip they rely a lot on temples. Thailand has a lot of them apparently. They provide free food and accommodation for anyone. Singapore has its lot of temples too. Tonight we will sleep in one of them. This is going to be my first time. This afternoon the temple surroundings were occupied by huge tents and other installations. Hundreds of Chineses were here for the celebration. Again, for the first time I’m enjoying a festival like this one. Lots of discoveries today :-)
Singapore, Philippine fashion show
Here we go, today I’m in a judge’s skin. David is one of the judges too :-) We’ve never done that before but why not :-) Fortunately my skills in graphic and web design might help a bit but it’s still an environment I did not expect to be in! Vic is quite confident about us, maybe more than us haha.
Singapore, bus tour
Today, I’m going to get on a tour offered by Nicole and Jose (Thanks :-). As I knew, the haze is still very thick today so I see things in black and white. It was a bit tricky to find the right bus stop but I did make the tour. Then as usual, I came back to the library and finally to the beach. Classic!
