Wat Krok Phra Nuea > Wat Ta Khian Luean (12km)

Today we kept following up the river Ping which goes all the way to Chiang Mai but we won’t be able to cycle next to it everyday. We will leave it at the Dam in the next coming days. This morning we have visited a tiny temple and met the guy who is restoring it. Then we kept on going until we stopped for breakfast. Next to that place there was another temple. Monks offered us to visit their hangar where they store super long competition boats. Finally we decided that it will be our day off today after 8 days cycling.

Wat Sri Sitthikaram > Wat Krok Phra Nuea (43km)

There is lots of things to report today :-) First we caught a ferry this morning, few! BIG news! That was my first time in Thailand ;-) Then we visited the river where huge fish live in large groups. Actually that’s because plenty of tourists come here regularly to feed them. They are not that dumb! After that, we visited that surprising temple (picture above) which has 32 functional doors we can use to enter inside. Which one to use?! Further away. we stopped to visit a Buddha factory and its jewelery. The people there do a super job, I must say, brilliant job :-) During breakfast time, we met an old guy who is passionated about wooden weapons. He makes them himself and shoot with mud balls. He builds slingshot, bow and extra long riffle. Impressive :-)

In Buri > Wat Sri Sitthikaram (59km)

Today we have been cycling on the two opposite roads. We started the day with very remote path and finished in along the highway (using the bicycle lane). A part that, not anything special. We did not visit any particular places (that will be for tomorrow :-). This evening we were stopped by the river. In fact, tomorrow morning we will catch a ferry to cross the Chao Phraya River.

Wat Pho Kao Ton > In Buri (44km)

Today we haven’t ride much but visit some more places. We met many nice people today and enjoy the ride the Chao Phraya river during the second part of the day. Tonight we won’t sleep in a temple. We almost did it but finally we ended in a restaurant. No plan is the best :-)

Wat Ban Kruat > Wat Pho Kao Ton (56km)

Today we visited a market called the 100 Years Rim Nam Market. We did not plan to visit it, that’s someone at the temple where we slept last night who recommended us. We had to make a small detour only and enjoy some tiny roads. After that we have been cycle all the way without visiting any special place until the end of the day. The last visit was a memorial called Kai Bang Rachan that commemorates the battle against the Burmese (again).

The next visit of the day is this Chinese temple made by Thai people. Underneath that huge dragon there is a museum (about Dragons) but the entrance is something like 300 baht for Thai people and 500 for foreigners, something like this. That will be without me guys.

Today is such a day full of pictures and stories that I decided to cut it in 4 parts. This morning we started with an unexpected and short visit of an old temple. Then we cycled to Suphan Buri where we ate breakfast and visited a famous temple called Wat Palelai. The rest of the visit will be described in the coming posts.
