Today is the day. The day I quit definitively south island to come back to the north. The weather is fantastic and I hope it will be still the same up there and a bit warmer because this morning… glaglagla!
Picton > Wellington (by ferry)

Today, I’m heading east towards Picton. I would like to meet Jude and Denis again. We met them with Josianne 5 months ago in Anakiwa when we were going to ride the Queen Charlotte track. The day we left, the couple told us that we could come back and see them again before leaving South island. Their place is right on my way to Picton so I will be glad to see them again and say goodbye. But before all that, now, the day starts with an hill, a good warm up :-)
Glenduan > Havelock (67km, 4h30)
This morning is a nice surprise! Maybe it has snowed the passed couple of days because those mountains are well covered. And the sunrise enhances this wonderful landscape! It’s marvellous! :-)
Motueka > Glenduan (70km, 4h)
Today I’m continuing moving towards Picton. The weather is okay now but I won’t be surprised if I will finish under the rain.
Motueka, sunny day off (8km, 45min)
It’s rare but today I’m going to have a day off under the sun :-) And yesterday, for the first time if I remember well, I found my place at the last moment. It was dark and I just had a logo on Google map to know where were the park and green area and then at 6 o’clock I moved.
Marahau > Abel Tasman track return > Motueka (25km, 1h30)
Hey, the sun is coming back today and the timing is nice for me. Marahau is situated next to the Abel Tasman National park. It’s a famous place where hundreds of tourists come every summer and even every year. At this time of the year now, the track is certainly much less crowded, a good opportunity for me to visit it today :-) I won’t do all the track because I would have need at least two days but I could walk simply one hour and come back. It’s better than nothing so Let’ go!
Marahau, rainy day off, again…
Pfiouuu! I hope that rain is going to disappear soon… Now it’s better so I took the occasion to go out and have a walk. It was raining almost all the night and all the morning. I don’t have so much food left and no water… I don’t like that. I’m going the the city centre, if there is one, to buy some pasta so I could survive until tomorrow if it’s still raining :-)
