Simply cycling around
Today is a crazy day where I’ve done 114km and join Orbost which I did not expect. After spending almost a week in the countryside, a side of myself desired to come back next the ocean which pushed me beyond my limits. I’ve started at 750m high and knew I would ended at sea level which helped a lot to pass the 100km in a day. Let’s start the day.
Looks like the rain is coming back for today. Plus, the wind might not be on my favor anymore. Well, I’ve chose this road now I will ride on it ar any price. It’s bloody cold as well as the wind comes from the south (Antarctica). I’d love being able to ride 90km like yesterday so I could reach the coast in a bit more than 3 days but it’s a tough challenge. As well as I said to Wendy that I will do my best to join her and Peter for Easter. Wow! I don’t think I will be one time… I will try!
Today is a windy day and fortunately on my side. I let Akihiko in Jindabyne, he was taking his bus to Canberra this morning. On my side, the trip is far to be finished and I’ve got a lot to see.
This was not in my plan at all but today I’m riding with Akihiko to the top of Australia ;-) It doesn’t look like because the maximum altitude is about 2200m and there is no sharp summit around. I let my trailer in a kind of park at the entrance of Jindabyne. I’ve covered it with some branch and trunks. I’m sure it will be fine. Today we have something like 1200m to climb along 50km and we will come back. This is the idea :-)
Today is a great day. Day of mistake following by luck. In fact, I missed my road and when I realized I continued on it because the wind was pushing me. And when I’ve done my first break, I’ve met 3 other cyclists like me! This is full on :-)
Wow! I’ve forgot my alarm this morning and check the time: 7:40am. I though I had to pack my tent straight away before being seen by someone but after a quick look outside… I think it’s fine. Really misty this morning so I can wait a bit more waiting for the sun to come up.
Here we go. Yesterday, I’ve stop just before that big hill so this morning I know what I’m starting with. I expect to do 75km and arrived in Cooma. Maybe I’ll get a day off. The weather is still shiny and for once there is no wind!
