Melaka, bicycle tour

DSCF1987

Do you remember this place? no? I’ve been here 2 days ago :-) This morning we started around 7:30. I was sleeping so well (finally, because on of the guy in the dormitory snored the whole night) when Bilel woke me up. Okay, okay, I’m ready. We started visiting the city centre (again!) and then we moved to the mosque I’ve been to few days ago. The place, next to the sea is quiet. After that, Bilel and Abdou  wanted to see the submarine museum so we all cycled there and I’ve visited the same place again :-) At least, we were cycling everywhere so I was in my element ;-)

Early this morning, we started walking around and towards the city centre.

Malaka, the multi-cultural city.

DSCF1971

Not much people in the street now.

DSCF1972

A Chinese temple.

DSCF1973

And we walk around.

DSCF1974

I’ve seen that wall many times but never got that close.

DSCF1976

Very graphical, I like it.

DSCF1975

On the other side of the Malacca river, the red square or Dutch square. (again).

DSCF1977

This time, the works are done, the round about is finished! But you won’t see it on this picture sorry :-)

DSCF1978

The artistic painting from the other side of the river.

DSCF1979

A nice idea, we could go on the top of the hill! hahaa, Two of us haven’t been up there so we must do it :-)

DSCF1980

Looks like England there.

DSCF1981

St Paul’s church.

DSCF1982

A Famosa + the Disneyland attraction + the malls of Malacca.

DSCF1983

We came back in the smalls streets of Melaka to rent bicycles. The price is 8 ringgit for on day, it’s cheap. I will use my bike though :-) Obviously this person, shop or artist loves cats.

DSCF1985

Random picture.

DSCF1986

We all have a bike now and can visit a bit further. But no body has an idea of where to go so I proposed to see the big white mosque that I’ve been to 2 days ago.

DSCF1987

This is it :-)

DSCF1988

The bicycle team (less one).

DSCF1989

Everyone is very happy with that. Now we can go to the submarine museum. We must be quick because Tomohiro and his friend want to catch a bus at 2pm. Now it’s midday.

DSCF1927

We got to the submarine museum, did an express visit and came back into town.

The two Japanese guys have left the place. This afternoon, I’ve been to a Garmin Shop I discovered few days ago. My GPS Garmin Edge 500 has big problems so I gave it to the shop and they will send it for repair. The repair team will contact me in 2 to 4 weeks and if I want to pay to fix it I will then collect it in Kuala Lumpur, the capital. I did not want to go their at the beginning because it’s a big (maybe huge) city but after checked online, it looks like there is few interesting things to see and visit around the place. Now, I have one more goal: take my GPS.

Now, we are still cycling around with Abdou, Bilel and Lee from vietnam. I’ve seen that church many time and never noticed that it’s actually not straight! Is it falling down like the tour of Pisa?

DSCF1993

Night is falling very quickly in Melaka ;-) The red square is now black.

DSCF1994

The river is barely visible for a camera. Okay, this time, tomorrow morning, I’m leaving. Even the staff of the guest house don’t believe me anymore when I say I’m leaving the next day haha :-)

  1. Where is the interesting places where you want to visit in KL?
I guess there are not much things to do anymore in Melaka…. meeting new people must be fun!

  2. Malacca semble une ville neuve à part quelques monuments dont tu parles. Sympa, moderne ! Dis donc tes copains ils ne galèrent pas trop à pédaler en jupe ??
