Kuala Lumpur, Menara KL visit

DSCF3147

Third point of view of the Petronas towers (it might be the last one for me because I get a bit tired of taking the same thing since 3 days). Tonight we got to the Menara Tower but this view is not free of charge… 52Ringgit to get to the first floor behind windows or 104Ringgit to reach the rooftop. Seriously?! That’s a bit super expensive for just a view on a concrete jungle… Naturally the top floor must be very nice but well… That’s out of our budget…

That’s the tower where we are going. Cycling to its base was not that easy because the tower is on a hill and a steep one! Like the fountains we have seen yesterday night, the projectors change their colour from red to orange to yellow, green, blue and purple.

As we chose the cheapest deal (so the first floor), we rapidly faced a problem: the light reflections in the windows. I feel they purposely put so much light behind us to force people paying for the last floor. We cannot look out without seeing what’s behind us. That’s annoying…

Fortunately, I’ve remembered a technique when I was in Sydney a while ago. In that same kind of tower people were using their jacket to cover themselves and the camera. That way, if you get very close to the window, you can get rid of most of the bloody reflections! Mouhahaaha.

We stay until the building close. Actually we arrived only 40 minutes before the end… We could do better than this but obviously… Once we got out of it, the colour had shifted to purple. That’s nice too. Let’s take another picture ;-)

As we were cycling back towards Ampang again, we got a last shot of the Petronas towers by reflection. Yes! this time reflections are useful ;-) We will spend the day of tomorrow retouching some pictures. Then the next one, we are going to fly to Borneo which is a complete different scenery. See you soon :-)
