Koh Rong Samloem > Kampot

Last day spent on the island. This morning we visited the northern side of the beach passing front of many other hotels waiting for the tourist season to start. Early this afternoon we will go to Kampot to continue our trip in Cambodia.

Starting point: the hotel (The best dorm I’ve ever slept in :-)

dscf4165

This time we are gonna walk north.

Actually, the hotel is a lot bigger than I thought. Many other little bungalows are spread along the beach. They don’t look all the same but they always have that nice natural roof. They match quite well the surrounding or at least don’t destroy the view.

Nice view.

dscf4169

Looks like there is another hotel popping up here. Lots of workers around (well, not on this picture).

dscf4171

The “Jungle sea view” hotel. I don’t know, maybe that’s its name :-)

dscf4172

Another one again. These bungalows don’t look as pretty as the previous one. From now, my favourite is the one we chose and the mud houses we’ve seen yesterday.

dscf4173

Palm trees, white sand and beautiful water.

dscf4179

We are nearly at the end of the track.

dscf4178

That’s a nice waterfall over there.

dscf4174

Closer look.

dscf4175

We are actually inside the hotel area. There is some more bungalows at the back and the restaurant on the left side (outside the picture).

dscf4177

Nice wooden sculpture.

There is only one way back to we go through the same places again like the under construction hotel. Let’s go back then.

dscf4181

That’s another restaurant very close to the water.

dscf4184

Same restaurant from a different point of view.

dscf4186

Time for a swim. Not for me, it’s a way to hot!

dscf4187

Finally we are back to the Beach hotel.

dscf4189

We are going to have some lunch and at 2pm we will be on our way back to Sihanoukville.

dscf4190

That’s the nicest logo I’ve ever seen…

dscf4191

Pick your choice :-)

2pm, we are ready to leave Koh Rong Samloem. That was two quiet nights and days on this small and beautiful island. I really hope the hotels won’t become huge piece of concrete in the future. And I hope the government or whoever manage this place will limit the amount of constructions here. This place should stay peaceful, clean and protected. See ya!
