Nowra > Braidwood road (73km, 5h40)

It’s 7am and I’m nearly ready. I’ve return at the same spot as yesterday night and even with all this rain yesterday the ground was fine. Today I will visit Jervis bay and then cycle inland toward Branwood.

Map.

DSCF6839

Ouh, this is a nice sunrise :-)

DSCF6840

A second one for pleasure (and because I could not choose between both).

DSCF6842

Cloudy or sunny? Normally it should be sunny today!

DSCF6843

Following the Princess highway now and I’m on a cycle path again.

DSCF6844

I’ve seen a google map that there is a parallel road to the noisy highway. It’s a dirt road which will last 5km maybe but it’s always better than nothing.

DSCF6845

Coming back on Princess Highway, I’m gonna turn off soon to go in direction of Jervis bay.

DSCF6846

And this is Huskisson :-)

DSCF6847

Huge city center.

DSCF6848

The natural harbour?

DSCF6849

After a short break, having some food and talking with a nice woman who wanted to enrole me in some Christian lectures, I’m heading south to Vincentia by the coast.

DSCF6850

empty.

DSCF6851

Always on bicycle path.

There is lots of access to the beach regards to all the beautiful houses I can see along the way.

DSCF6855

I’m not cheating!

DSCF6857

Wonderful beach.

DSCF6858

As bike ;-)

DSCF6859

A bit further down the road…

DSCF6860

I’m now on my way to Brainwood and Sanctuary Point is one of the few places I can visit. There is a bicycle track somewhere along this lake.

DSCF6861

Here it is! I expected something different but I can try…

DSCF6862

Nice but narrow and remote.

Video

DSCF6865

I feel I gonna cycle in the water soon…

DSCF6867

Few! Finally! I did not do all the cycle track as it was really narrow and I was concern about my trailer. I’ve found this nice park for lunch. I’m hungry now after nearly 50km.

DSCF6868

I bought this cheese in Woolongong and just realized that the name Nimbin scared me a bit. This is the name of the Hippie town above Byron bay where everyone is smoking weed. Is that cheese safe? Haha ;-)

DSCF6866

Cooking pasta with some bacon, carrot, water chestnut and green powder.

DSCF6869

It was really windy when I was cooking and I lost lots of energy for nothing. So after lunch I modified my wind shield to optimize the heat. Next time I will boil water in 1min!

DSCF6870

On the road again bit not for long because I’ve got a bloody puncture… There is SO much glass along the road, I’m not surprise I’ve got a flat tyre… Rah!

DSCF6871

45min later I keep going.

DSCF6872

Ah this is where start the turpentine dirt road. Many people told me that and I know now the quality of the road is OK.

DSCF6873

it’s gravel but it’s quite smooth.

DSCF6874

15km later I’ve reach the other side and I’m on Brainwood road now. I will stop along the road as soon as I find a good spot for the night.

DSCF6875

Here it is :-) The tent is almost set up and I should have a great night :-) See ya!

  1. Pourquoi dis tu “je ne triche pas ” ? Pas compris !! Dis donc il est bizarre ton réchaud, comment ça marche ? Alors route de terre térébenthine … ça m’intrigue ! C’est la traduction qui est étrange ou la route ? Lol.

  2. It looks great day for cycling ! Beautiful coast line !
Cooking with the green powder..? It doesn’t sound yummy….
