This morning Maria suggested to go to the beach. She asked me if I wanted to go with her family or stay here, haha. Why would I stay here alone? She trust me too much already :-) The thing I did not realised is the fact that Kediri is 80km away from the sea and considering the Indonesian traffic it’s far away. All together we went to the beach today. From right to left: Yon, Asri, Maria, Ethan, Irene, Yuni and me. Maria’s son, Abraham, stayed at home playing video games.
I did not take any picture during the trip. After more than 3 hours spent in the car we have never been that closed to our goal but there is a big traffic jam.
Cars and scooters hide each cm² of the road!
On the beach there is as much parked scooters than people haha. Crazy!
We were really lucky and found a place very easily! Now, Maria and Yon are trying to bargain for a boat trip. They want to go to another beach where there is not too much people.
After few minutes they agreed on a price which I have no idea what it is and we will soon be on board.
Like now :-) Another family is travelling with us.
Sailing across the bay.
We made it :-)
Effectively there is not much people here but I still met some who wanted to have a photo with me… Yuni laughted at me and said “He is like an artist”. haha, no no I’m not, I’m just white haha.
Panoramic beach view
Extra panoramic beach view.
Family portrait and the white visitor (with black feet).
Same but different.
Later on, the boat came back to pick us up an bring us around this rock island front of us.
Back to the crowded beach. Arka seems to be very happy to be here haha.
The thick Indonesian forest.
Coming back from the “rocky island”.
There is plenty other beach empty.
That’s a fish farm.
Hooo, the crowd is still here.
Plenty of people and lots of boats.
When we left the captain must be very careful because the water was very shalow. But now it’s not even possible to come on this part of the beach. We can see the rocks.
There is the banana boat as well.
Looks loke this peer is colapsing. It does not seem to be safe.
Back on the sand. That was a good trip :-)
Maria and Yuni are looking for a place where to eat.
The crowd starts to move out and we can breath a bit.
Oooh, what this woman is selling? Some grilled fish?
Wow, grilled fish on sticks. There is lots of different kind of fish including Tuna, salmon and others I don’t remember.
The woman is opening some coconut for us.
Hooo, nice glass :-)
There is like half a litter of coconut water and the best is the gelly.
I’ve eaten like never I did before!
We started with the coconut. Then a Bakso fish soup, the some crackers. I was nearly full already when, I did not remember, the dozen of grilled fish on stick arrived. We shared all of them until a second dozen of grilled fish arrived! I was completely full when another half a dozen arrived again. Wow! I cannot eat anymore until tomorrow night I guess. Maria told me “in our family we like eating”. I trust you Maria, no problem on that haha :-)
The dinner finished, we took some “doggy bag” of fish and reached the car. It’s 6pm and we have a minimum of 3 hours to drive back to Kediri. What a day! Thank you so much everyone :-)
I can tell the family has money and like eating by the look. :-)
The first beach and road are packed!!! Do they swim in creeks as well ? or they already polluted the creeks…
Que de monde partout ! Ouf, un peu décourageant non ?
So you were not a vegetarian yet!You know if you come to China, you will find everyone loves eating, hahaha! There is an old saying that ” Food is the first thing for people” which is also one of the most important notions in our civilization life.
