Freshwater, Up to bush camp site

DSCF3758

Hello! today we were cycling around Smithfield with Martin and Marco pretending going to the mountain bike track but finally the plan changed. There is a nice track in a george and were are gonna camp at the top something like that. Martin and Marco have been there already but not me yet :-). A new visit, a new adventure, let’s go!

DSCF3704

We took our backpack and all the things we needed.  We are actually walking on a old track which is no longer maintain by the council. Martin and Marco seem to remember where is the exact way, I hope!

DSCF3705

Ah, looks like we’ve reach a place or something, a checkpoint :-)

DSCF3707

The railway!

DSCF3708

Hey, I didn’t understand that at the beginning but this is cool. This is the railway that comes from Kuranda and the train might pass later.

DSCF3710

We listened the railway to verify if there was no train before crossing the tunnel. Of course the TGV is not the kind of train who drive here. It’s a tourist train! slow, slooow :-)

DSCF3712

wow! the george :-)

DSCF3713

Marco the monkey ;-)

DSCF3714

Nice view already!

DSCF3715

We are now onto that famous bridge. It’s on every postcards who highlight the “Kuranda railway tour”. But for us it’s free haha and we can stay as long as we like.

DSCF3716

hello :-D

S0063717

This is the best part of the trip. Martin told us that the train is coming. Marco and me thought it was a joke when we saw it as well. Just run! We shouldn’t be here because it’s not allowed for security stuff (pff! They just want people to pay of course).

S0073719

So we hide ourselves behind a fence waiting for the train. exiting! I love that :-)

S0083725

Here it is, Kuranda train!

S0093730

Heavy slow Kuranda train…

S0103731

The tourist are coming now. We don’t have to hide any more.

S0113733

they look like lions in a cage. Poor tourist!

and again

and again

DSCF3749b

Hello :-) we are free and for us it’s free, sorry.

DSCF3751

Ok, let’s continue. The campsite is not too far. Wow this is a big cricket!

DSCF3752

The view becomes better and better during our ascension.

DSCF3753

The famous bridge from the top, Nice!

DSCF3754

A bit of more adventure ;-)

DSCF3756

Go Marco Go!

DSCF3757

The two adventurers in action ;-)

DSCF3758

Yeah! our campsite is set up and the fire ready :-)

We picked up this big piece of wood to make a seat but our solution wasn’t the best… We found a tree which fell down in the water one day. Its trunk was outside, sitting on a rock. It was dry enough to break it so we used our weight to do it. The thing happened as we were worried about. We were “jumping” on the wrong side, the part of the trunk we wanted, so, of course, when the trunk ceded we fell down on the ground… lol. It’s was painful (especially for Martin…) but fun as well. We didn’t have so much choice and we paid the price. But now, we have a seat! haha :-D

DSCF3760

During Martin having a nap, Marco shows me a lookout with a very cool view. We can also see the campsite from here.

DSCF3763

And the railway of course.

DSCF3767

Heu Marco take care please, stay with us ok?

DSCF3761

Fiou! nice!

DSCF3766

Sunset! peaceful, nice, I like it. Thank you Martin and Marco for this cool adventure.
