Ban Lat Kachoe > Somdet (70km)

DSCF2668

Today I’ve done the biggest hill of my trip to Bangkok. After this hill the road will be quite easy normally. Last night a storm came by but fortunately I didn’t find myself in the center of it, just few rain showers. Once I’ve done that “super hill” (which is an easy climb) I enjoyed a long downhill following by a flat road. I arrived at the next Amazon Café this morning and stayed until 6pm. Finally, I’ve found a temple less than 2km away and slept in the garden.

My spot was good yesterday night :-)

It was very quiet too. Nobody started a match in the middle of the night ;-) Let’s pack and go.

That’s where I slept last night not far from this very nice looking tree.

For now the road is hilly but soon I will start that famous hill.

That’s the one. It’s not very steep, just long. I like the shape here. If you drive very fast and straight, you might jump!

Downhill! What is this dinosaur doing here?

It looks like a theme rest area. I cannot read any of there texts… Anyway, let’s keep going.

Flat road! Cool :-)

Short break under the shade. I like the way those girls work. During waiting for the next client to come, they lay in hammocks playing with their mobile. It must be a boring job. 8 hours (maybe more) waiting like this. Fortunately the company doesn’t force them to stand up and wait like this. Hammock are much better ;-)

Nice, there is fresh water here! I will fill my bottle :-) It’s pretty hot now but I want to arrive at the Amazon Café this morning so I will continue. I’m 8km away from my final destination so that’s fine.

That’s it for today, I’ve done 68km since this morning and will stay the rest of the day at this Amazon Café working on my website. I have a lot of things I want to upgrade :-)

Around 6pm, I finally moved. It was nearly dark so I started searching a place right after the petrol station. The first field I’ve found was all empty. I’ve been at the back of it to see if I could find some trees but nothing. Just after this field, there was a narrow street going towards a tiny village. I took this road. A minute later, I saw a kind of garden on the left hand side. I asked to a guy if I could stay there for the night. I understood I had to follow him, but apparently I was allowed to sleep here. I realised soon that the garden was part of a temple. We looked for a monk and the guy asked if I could stay here. Few minutes later I was setting up my hammock between the trees :-) Good!
